The Aimhigher Norfolk 2011 Calendar Competition is already underway.  The summer holidays are an ideal time to get out your camera and snap the winning picture.  The competition is open to students from Norfolk schools, sixth forms and colleges, from Year 7 through to Year 13.

From Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 May, Year 10 students from City Academy Norwich, The Hewett School and Open Academy took part in the Higher Education Field Academy, or HEFA for short, at Carleton Rode, South Norfolk.  The students worked in teams of four and spent two days digging and excavating a test pit in the hot sun.  It was an exhausting task to do in the heat, so it was great to see all of the students working as a team and sharing the tasks.

The Aimhigher Associates Scheme celebration event took place on Thursday 27 May at the John Innes Centre in Norwich.  The evening was attended by almost 100 Year 10 students from all nine schools involved in the scheme, their parents and carers, siblings and school co-ordinators.

Students from schools across Norfolk gathered together at Easton College during the Easter holidays for the fourth annual sport residential, entitled Aimhigher through Sport.

Aimhigher Norfolk, in partnership with Easton College, organised this two-day event for 41 Year 10 students who enjoy playing sport, and who may be considering Higher Education in a sporting career.

Impact Healthcare Shows

In April and May, Aimhigher Norfolk organised for Year 10 students to be visited by the IMPACT Healthcare Show.  It was a lively, exciting performance that explained some of the many different jobs available in the healthcare profession.  We hope that all the students who attended found the show interesting and useful.
