Aimhigher Norfolk

"My name is Sandra Boston and I am the Aimhigher Officer covering the North area. This encompasses as far south as Dereham, forming a large triangle upwards to the North Norfolk coast with Wells Next The Sea on one side and Cromer and Sheringham on the other, with all points in between. The area includes 12 high schools, 3 sixth form centres and Paston College. I will be maintaining regular contact with all of these and am available to assist with organising events for individual and groups of schools and sixth forms. Some have already participated in taster events at colleges, others have visited Universities out of Norfolk and I have given presentations of routes in to Higher Education for progression days which have occurred within the schools itself. The vast choice of activities is not limited. If you have an idea for an event which would help your students with their future pathways, whether this is by the vocational route or through the more traditional A level route, please contact me so that we can discuss how to move forward with it.

"All of the activities on the Aimhigher Menu of Activities are available to all students within Norfolk. These activities range form tours of local Colleges and the University of East Anglia to Archaeological digs linked with Cambridge University.

"Here is a brief background on me. I have been working as an adviser for many years, my previous career was based at Easton College where I ran the Information Centre for 4 years, in my last year moving on to working with the 14-16 years old who came to the College on the Work Related Learning programme from Norfolk schools. My more recent qualifications are in Information Advice and Guidance as well as in teaching adult learners (anyone over 16 years of age). I am a local person, having lived in mid Norfolk since I was 14 years old. I attended Northgate High School and the Sixth Form Centre in Dereham."
