Gifted & Talented maths trip

We visited the UEA in October 2007 on a trip organized and funded by Aimhigher. The trip had a maths focus, and I chose 30 pupils from two maths sets in Year 10. The pupils had a chance to tour the campus, and hear about university life and the advantages of higher education from the extremely helpful and friendly UEA student ambassadors.

We then participated in a maths workshop, where one of the UEA tutors bridged the gap between GCSE and A level maths with some tuition on factorials, shapes and patterns.

Lunch was included in the experience with the students eating at the café with UEA students.

The pupils all enjoyed their day very much and some changed their future plans based on their experiences.
